Moreover, the Enat Yokhatpa Luptin (EYOL) on Thursday organised a Public Convention at Kha Potshangbam Maning Community Hall to address the growing incorporation of extravagant and non-traditional practices in religious and cultural ceremonies, particularly weddings.
The convention was organised in association with BAAL, UWDO and Kha Potshangbam Meira Paibi.
A large number of people from the Kha Potshangbam area participated in the convention which was focused on protecting the essence of cultural rituals, promoting community responsibility, and preventing vulgar displays of wealth that undermine traditions.
At the convention, the people resolved to stand against the modem additions such as lavish tent setups and decorations, cake cutting, exchanging of rings and excessive expenditures which put financial burdens on families and allegedly erode authentic traditions.
They also took a collective resolution to promote simple and meaningfill rituals rooted in Manipur's rich cultural legacy.
