Imphal, May 26 2026: Stating that there is no work greater than humanitarian service in human life, Langthabal AC MLA Karam Shyam today lauded the Like Minded Group (LMG), Manipur for its selfless service to society.

Speaking as chief guest at the 5th Foundation Day and 5th General Body Meeting of LMG held at Loktak Hall, Manipur Press Club, the MLA said the group's 332 members coming together without hierarchy to render humanitarian service itself shows the public the strength of such work.

"Helping others after seeing their plight is not just about giving.

The joy and satisfaction that come from helping are moments one feels for oneself', he said.

Recalling his own efforts, Karam Shyam said that since his early days of public service, he has been donating half his salary to support orphaned or underprivileged students.

In the past 11 years, around Rs 120 lakh has been extended to students in this manner.

The function was also attended by LMG president Leihaothabam Kunjeshwor, chief advisor Wangkhemcha Shamjai, advisors Dr Longjam Baleshwar, Gitkumar Nepram, Ashem Kennedy, Kshetri Tama, and RM School founder Dr Khwairakpam Hilari as presidium members.
