ANSAM launches district tour to strengthen education and healthcare in Naga areas

The All Naga Students' Association Manipur (ANSAM) has commenced a district-wide tour across Naga-dominated regions as part of its 2025 initiative to assess and strengthen key public systems.
The delegation was led by ANSAM president Angteshang Maring, accompanied by Daichui Gangmei, president of the Rongmei Naga Students' Organisation Manipur (RNSOM).
As part of the tour, the team visited Tamenglong College and Tamenglong Higher Secondary School, where they held discussions with the respective principals.
The interactions focused on the pressing grievances and challenges faced by educational institutions.
The ANSAM delegation also conducted an inspection of the Tamenglong District Hospital, assessing service delivery, healthcare facilities, and issues impacting the wellbeing of the local population.
The tour underscored three primary objectives: i) assess existing systems in education and healthcare, with emphasis on chronic issues requiring intervention, ii) identify gaps and problems at various levels to ensure clarity in addressing systemic shortcomings, and iii) develop strategies to address these challenges and promote long-term positive change.
Both ANSAM and RNSOM reaffirmed their commitment to advancing the interests of Ihe Naga community, prioritising improvements in education, healthcare, and overall public well-being through continuous engagement and constructive action.
