Kisan Diwas 2025 / National Mushroom Day celebrated

Imphal, December 23 2025: Thirtyeight stalls put up displays of different varieties of mushrooms and mushroom products at the Kisan Diwas 2025 cum National Mushroom Day held at ICAR Manipur Centre, Lamphelpat under the theme "Mushroom as functional foods".

The event was jointly organised by ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Manipur Centre and ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendras (Chandel, Churachandpur, Imphal West, Tamenglong and Ukhrul) .

The programme was attended by K Debadutta, Director, Department of Horticulture and Soil Conservation; Dr Ng Iboyaima, Dean, College of Food Technology, CAU, Imphal; Dr Sinam Subharani, Head, CSB-Regional Sericulture Research Station Mantripukhri and Dr Ch Basudha Devi, Head of Regional Centre, ICAR-Manipur Centre Lamphelpat as the presidium members.

Separately, the College of Agriculture, Iroisemba, CAU, Imphal observed Kisan Diwas 2025 at its conference hall today in the presence of Dean, Professor K Nandini Devi.

A total of 65 farmers from different districts of Manipur actively took part in the celebration, alongside faculty members, staff, and students of the College.

The attendees collectively witnessed the live telecast of the National Kisan Diwas Celebration 2025, which connected them to the broader vision of empowering farmers across the country.

Lectures were delivered by the faculty members of the College focusing on farmer progress-oriented topics and advancement of agriculture in Manipur at the event.

The celebration concluded with distribution of inputs to the farmers.
