Ten cleft patients from Shija Hospitals participate in Cleft Con

Imphal, September 23 2025: Shija Hospitals was represented at Cleft Con India 2025 with ten patients, eight guardians, one coordinator, and a Smile Train Partner Surgeon.

The event was held on September 20 at Taj City Center New Town, Kolkata and inaugurated by Susannah Schafer, Chief Executive Officer of Smile Train Inc, New York, as per a press release.

The event highlighted testimonies and personal narratives from participants whose lives have been positively shaped by cleft care at Shija Hospitals.

Samom Dushila, a cleft warrior and currently a medical representative, performed a Manipuri traditional dance while Amom Chingkheinganbi, a DM College student, expressed gratitude to Dr Palin Khundongbam.

Additionally, Bishwajit Ningthoujam, currently employed at Shija Hospitals, shared his professional journey and twin sisters, Sudipty Thingujam and Shushanti Thingujam, narrated their experiences and honoured Smile Train Goodwill Ambassador Rita Bhari Chakraborty and the Smile Train team.

The program also included a Manipuri song by Alex Elangbam.
