Y Nilachandra honoured with Khaidem Tomba Sahitya Award 2024

Moirang, September 22 2024: Writer's Club Manipur, Nambol celebrated its 30th foundation day at Royal Academy of Law, Oinam.

Manipur Language Advisory Board Sahitya Akademi New Delhi Convenor Professor Rajen Toijamba, Writers' Club Manipur Nambol president Ph Brajamuhini Devi, lyricist and translator Nongmaithem Kirankumar Singh and renowned critic L Memo Singh attended the event.

As part of the event, Khaidem Tomba Sahitya Award 2024 was awarded to Yengkhom Nilachandra for his book titled "Daku Ningthou Herachandra".

The award carries Rs 25,000, a citation and a shawl.

A book titled "Nungshibi Ereiduna" written by Ngangom Rameshwar was also released at the event.

Former members of Writers' Club Manipur Nambol, several writers and donors were feted at the event.

The gathering observed a 2-minute silence as a mark of respect for people who have been martyred in the present conflict since May 3, 2023 .
