TSA demands immediate action on illegal occupation of Sadar Hills PWD Office

Imphal, July 22 2025: The Thadou Students' Association (TSA) has expressed deep concern over the continued illegal occupation of the Sadar Hills Public Works Department (PWD) Office at Kangpokpi District Headquarters by the Kuki Students' Organisation, Sadar Hills (KSO-SH), and affiliated groups.

In a press statement issued today, the TSA said that the illegal occupation has forced the PWD Sadar Hills Division to either operate from Khuyathong, Imphal or attempt to set up a temporary camp office at Daili village, about 1 km from Kangpokpi DHQ, which is now facing objections from locals.

The TSA reiterated that if anyone continues to object to the functioning of PWD from Daili village, there must also be a collective demand to vacate the original PWD Sadar Hills office premises at Kangpokpi DHQ immediately and hand it over to the legitimate authorities.

"The public deserves efficient administration, and such illegal encroachment of Government office premises by any organisation is unacceptable and against the rule," the TSA stated.

The student body further appealed to the Governor of Manipur, the district administration, and the concerned department to take immediate steps to restore the PWD office at Kangpokpi DHQ to enable public works to be carried out effectively for the welfare and development of Sadar Hills and its people.
