Bishnupur, May 22 2026: A high-level meeting regarding security arrangements for the cultivation of Kharif paddy in the fringe areas of Bishnupur and Churachandpur districts was held on Friday at the Conference Hall of the Mini Secretariat (DC Office), Bishnupur.

The meeting was chaired by Ningshen Womgam, Inspector General of Police (Zone-II), Manipur.

Discussions were also held regarding the security arrangements as well as resettlement of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) .

Among those who attended the meeting were Pooja Elangbam, Deputy Commissioner of Bishnupur; Dharun Kumar S, Deputy Commissioner of Churachandpur; Commander of 59 Mountain Brigade Tac HQ, Loukoipat; Ksh Ravikumar Singh, Superintendent of Police, Bishnupur; Gaurav Dogra, Superintendent of Police, Churachandpur; along with Commanding Officers of various security forces.

During the meeting, the Superintendents of Police of Bishnupur and Churachandpur highlighted feasible areas in their respective districts where security arrangements may be required to facilitate smooth cultivation activities.

Regarding the issue of Internally Displaced Persons, the Deputy Commissioner of Bishnupur informed the meeting that special emphasis is being given to the resettlement process of IDPs.

Following the interaction with officials, Ningshen said that co-ordination is required among the officials of Bishnupur and Churachandpur district to handle the issue of security considering the prevailing law and order situation in both the districts.
