3-week long Trade Expo kicks off in Chandel

Chandel, July 21 2025: A three-week long trade expo was inaugurated today at the Chamdil Town Hall, Panchai village, in Chandel district.

The initiative aims to provide the public with access to a variety of quality products at more affordable prices than those available in the open market.

The expo which will continue daily from 10 am to 8 pm until August 10, is being organized by the North East Trade Fair Society, Kohima in collaboration with Students' Union Chandel (NSUC).

The expo was inaugurated by Reverend Sng John Calvin, general secretary of Chandel Naga Christian Forum (CNCF), who prayed for and invoked God's blessings for the success of the expo.

Abui Newmai, proprietor of North East Trade Fair Society, Kohima shared that similar trade fairs had been conducted in other states, and their success motivated the team to bring the event to Chandel.

He added that the latest market products will be available at the fair, and expressed confidence that the event will be well-received by the public.

The executive members of NSUC also offered their best wishes to participating traders and local public, emphasizing that such initiatives help bridge gaps in market access and benefit the people by providing goods at reduced prices.
