BDVDFWA endorses strike

Bishnupur District VDF Welfare Association (BDVDFWA) has backed the All Manipur VDF Employees Welfare Association's (Central Committee) decision to launch an "indefinite arms down, pens down strike" from December 23 if their demands are not addressed by then.
The AMVDFWA CC made the declaration on December 15.Speaking to mediapersons at the VDF office located within the SP Bishnupur Complex, Oinam Bijoy, president, BDVDFWA, shared that a meeting was convened today attended by VDF personnel and leaders of Bishnupur district.
After thorough deliberation, the gathering agreed to endorse the Central Committee's decision to resume the indefinite strike owing to the prolonged failure of both the Home Department and the Police Department to address their demands despite the assurances given to the AMVDEFWA CC.
He urged the relevant departments to address their demands by December 22 .
At the press briefing, L Devan, advisor, AMVDFEWA advised VDFs to affix name tags on their uniforms to identify themselves.
He asserted that VDFs in the valley and the hills should continue their indefinite strike until the Government issues a formal order addressing their demands.
He also urged all VDF personnel to halt their duty once the strike begins.
