Imphal, January 20 2026: A one-day "Get-Together for Peace and Prosperity cum Musical Concert" was held on Monday at the Town Hall, Chandel district headquarters, with the theme "Heal Our Land" .

The programme was organised by the All Tribal Film Organisation.

Thongju Assembly Constituency MLA Thongam Bishwajit, who attended the event as the chief guest, said that development cannot be achieved as long as hatred and enmity persist among the people.

He stressed that restoration of normalcy would remain difficult in the absence of peace and mutual understanding.

Biswajit emphasised that setting aside anger and hatred and engaging in dialogue are essential steps towards restoring normalcy.

He stated that only when peace and normal life are restored can the State progress, develop and achieve the aspirations of its people.

He appealed to the public to make collective efforts to help restore peace and normalcy in the State.

Speaking on the occasion, All Tribal Film Organisation general secretary Johnson Gonmei said that the programme was organised with the aim of easing tensions among communities through cultural activities and fostering peace and stability in the region.

The event was also attended by AMMOCOC president SM Jalal, social activist Ashang Kashar, and representatives of various communities, reflecting a shared commitment towards peace and communal harmony.
