AMUFFA organises training programme for fish farmers

Imphal, June 19 2025:
The All Manipur United Fish Farmers Association (AMUFFA) on Thursday inaugurated a 10-day training programme for fish farmers at Hiyangkhong, Imphal West district.
The training programme was conducted under the aegis of All Manipur United Clubs' Organisation (AMUCO) and was sponsored by the Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI) of State Bank of India (SBI) .
The inaugural function was graced by AMUCO vice president Dr Norendro Thokchom, assistant secretary organisation Th Shantikumar, AMUFFA president M Bimolchand, District Co-ordinator Livelihood (Farm) Ranajina Potsangbam and Y Deban, Director of SBI, RSETI as presidium members.
At the event, the dignitaries shed light on Manipur's vast potential in the fisheries sector and the need to bridge the gap between demand and supply through use of modem technology, integrated fanning and innovation.
They highlighted the need to address issues faced by fish farmers and promote self-sufficiency in fish production within Manipur.
They also exhorted the farmers participating in the training programme to use die knowledge they gain from different experts wisely to become successful and contribute in improving the socio-economic condition of Manipur.
