Imphal, March 18 2026:
In view of the cyclical form of violence plaguing Manipur, the Interfaith Forum Manipur has appealed all responsible leaders and parents to collectively call for cessation of all kinds of mutually targeted violence across the communities on the ground and in social media.
A press release issued by the Forum expressed deep concern over tensions building up following the recent flare up at Litan and shared in the suffering of all displaced including elderly, women and children.
It maintained that such violence is "not the way for us" and it is against the core values of all religions and the democratic principles inherited from their forefathers and against their children's rights to live in peace.
The Forum has maintained that it is the fundamental duty of all citizens of Manipur across religions to eschew violence and engage in peaceful ways of solving all problems among us.
Thus, it has urged people to put their heads and hearts together to jointly engage in dialogue for mutual understanding and finding creative solutions to problems confronting everyone in the State.
