Irabot Foundation, Sayon celebrate Foundation Day

Irabot Foundation Manipur celebrated its 29th Foundation Day at Manipur Press Club, Imphal.
As part of the celebration, a public discussion on the topic "Climate Action And Economic Regeneration Through Agricultural Activities" was also conducted, presided over by Irabot Foundation Manipur's president Kh Gopen Luwang.
Delivering the keynote address, Irabot Foundation Manipur vice president O Dilip Kumar informed that the foundation was established on June 16, 1996 under the supervision of Late Thounaojam Iboyaima, who is popularly known as the "Father of Social Work".
Highlighting that the foundation was formed with an aim to strive for a self-reliant Manipur and egalitarian society, Dilip Kumar asserted that since its inception, the foundation has taken up various campaigns for the upliftment of farmers in the State.
"Manipur is experiencing a worsening cycle of alternating floods and droughts, significantly impacted by climate change.
These events are becoming more frequent and intense, leading to devastating consequences for public health, agriculture, and the overall economy", he added.
Dilip Kumar also emphasized the need for expert-backed agricultural planning to address food security, climate change impacts, and resource management challenges facing the agricultural sector.
Moreover, Sayon also celebrated its 2nd Foundation Day at its office premises in Singjamei Chingamakha today.
The celebration was graced by SAYON president, M Budha Singh; Dr K Indrakuamr Singh, Professor, Political Science Department, DM University; Dr Sapam Dilip Singh, Assistant Professor, Law Department, Manipur University; NRC president.

The celebration commenced with a two-minute silence and the offering of floral tributes to the deceased members of SAYON.
The keynote address was given by Meikam Nanao Singh, assistant secretary of SAYON.
As part of the celebration, a Voluntary Blood Donation Camp was also conducted in collaboration with Shija Blood Center & Transfusion Services, Langol.
According to a release issued by Shija Hospitals and Research Institute Private Limited, the camp was organised as part of the observance of World Blood Donor Day 2025.The initiative was conducted under the global theme "Give Blood, Give Hope: Together We Save Lives", highlighting the lifesaving importance of regular blood donation and the vital role of community participation in maintaining a safe and sufficient blood supply.
About 40 individuals donated their blood during the camp .
