Tiddim Road temporarily blocked after local man's arrest

Bishnupur, October 15 2025: Locals temporarily blocked the Tiddim Road at Thamnapokpi after one Moirangthem Chinglemba alias Kalu (28) was arrested by Bishnupur District Commando at 5 am today.

However, the road blockade was withdrawn after he was released around noon.

According to information culled from the area, Moirangthem Chinglemba, s/o M Laingam from Thamnapokpi Ward No 4 under Ngangkhalawai Gram Panchayat (Moirang PS) was picked up from his home by personnel of the Bishnupur District Commando in uniform and some others in civil dress.

As residents of the area heard about the incident, they imposed a blockade along the Tiddim Road at Thamnapokpi from 9 am in protest.

After meira paibis of the region held talks with personnel of Bishnupur District Commando, the arrested man was handed over to the womenfolk around noon.

The road blockade was lifted after Chinglemba's release.
