Imphal, May 15 2025: In connection with the birth anniversary of Universal Friendship Organisation (UFO) founder RK Manisana, UFO observed World Non-Butcher Day at its Chingnungkok headquarters on Wednesday.

The observance was attended by UFO president RK Sana Parihal, secretary general Yumlembam Meiraba Angom, finance secretary L Tairen, publicity secretary Tongbram Wanglen, instructors, battalion commanders and members.

Addressing the gathering, Meiraba reminded that their founder had wished that United Nations (UN) designate a day for non-butchering of animals and as per his wish the organisation sent a proposal to UN general secretary through East Timor President Jose Ramor Horta to designate RK Manisana's birth anniversary on May 14 as World Non-Butcher Day.

Informing that the East Timor President has sent a copy to the organisation on September 21, 2024 notifying that the proposal has been submitted to UN general secretary, he reasoned that as observance of the Day would save the lives of millions of animals they are observing World Non-Butcher Day on the birth anniversary of Manisana.
