Interaction, awareness programmes held

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Internal Complaints Committee (ICC), NSS and YRC of Biramangol College organised an "International Breast Cancer Awareness Programme at the gymnasium hall of the college in Sawombung today.
The programme was conducted in collaboration with the Department of Radiation Oncology, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal.
The programme was graced by dignitaries, including Dr B Arunkumar Sharma, Department of Radiation Oncology, RIMS; Dr A Jibanlata Devi, Principal i/c, Biramangol College; Dr Babina Sarangthem, Professor, Pathology Department, RIMS; Dr Ch Ghanajit, Coordinator, IQAC, Biramangol College; and N Rajmohon, Academic i/c, Biramangol College.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr B Arunkumar said that breast cancer is the most common cancer worldwide, affecting more than 2.3 million women.
He also stressed on the importance of regular screening, early medical consultation, and lifestyle modifications for reducing the risk of breast cancer.
Moreover, an interaction programme was successfully conducted yesterday at the Destitute (women) Centre cum Older Home, Phayeng Kharang, Imphal West district.
The programme organised under the aegis of C/66 Battalion CRPF was attended by Company Commandant Rajeev Sahay and Unit Commandant Sh Sabu along with jawans of the C/66 Company.
Former Minister Ningthoujam Biren was also present at the event.
Apart from interacting with the senior citizens staying at the Home, the Company also organised a grand feast to show their appreciation and support for the elderly.
