Thoubal, July 13 2025:
In response to the worsening condition of the road in front of Wangjing New Market, social worker Kshetrimayum Priyobarta of Kairembikhok has voluntarily undertaken repair work to ease the plight of women vendors and commuters.
The road, located adjacent to National Highway 102, had become severely damaged due to persistent waterlogging during the rainy season, and turned into a dust-filled road, during the dry spells.
These conditions posed significant inconvenience and health risks, especially to elderly vendors and passersby, with vehicles often splashing mud and water onto vendors and their goods.
Taking swift action, Priobarta mobilised resources and led the repair efforts himself.
The initiative was widely appreciated by the local community, particularly the women vendors whose daily business was being severely affected.
The vendors expressed heartfelt gratitude to Ksh Priyobara for his timely and selfless intervention, and wished for continued success in his future community welfare activities.
