Imphal, September 12 2025:
A landslide measuring 100 meters struck Tsiesema Village near Kohirna along the Imphal-Dimapur highway last night, partially submerging an Imphal-bound truck.
Fortunately, the driver and handyman escaped unharmed, despite the vehicle being dragged and partially submerged by the debris.
Addressing the media at Kwakeithel today, Manipur Drivers' Association (MDA) assistant secretary Khundongbam Sangeetcharan said that the landslide was triggered by incessant rainfall last night between 9 arid 10 at Tsiesema Village in Nagaland.
He stated that the MDA and its allied organizations are collaborating with Nagaland's Public Works Department and 45 Assam Rifles to retrieve the truck and repair the landslide-hit area using heavy machinery.
He urged all transporters to contact them in case of any difficulties while travelling along the highways.
