Civil service achievers felicitated across Thoubal and Bishnupur

Thoubal/Bishnupur, May 10 2026: Several organisations across Thoubal and Bishnupur districts on Sunday felicitated successful candidates of the Manipur Civil Service Combined Competitive Examination (MCSCCE), 2022 in recognition of their achievements.

The Armed Forces Ex-Servicemen Welfare Association (AFESWA), Thoubal organised a felicitation ceremony to honour Deepa Maibam, who secured the 8th rank in the examination.

Deepa Maibam is the daughter of ex-serviceman Maibam Gopal and Ahanbi.

The programme was held at SAI Mandir, Thoubal Wangmataba, in connection with the monthly meeting of AFESWA, Thoubal.

Members of the association presented gifts to Deepa and extended their best wishes for her future endeavours.

The event was attended by AFESWA president Retd Wing Commander AK Deben Singh, executive member Retd Group Captain Khumanthem Surjit, secretary Retd Subedar W Khogendra, Honorary Captain P Khelen Singh and Zilla Sainik Board secretary Y Yaima, among others.

Speaking on the occasion, Deepa Maibam expressed gratitude for the honour accorded to her and stated that clearing the civil service examination was not an easy task.

She said she had faced several moments of demotivation during her preparation, but added that commitment and perseverance eventually led her to success.

She also acknowledged the role played by her parents in shaping her career and personality.

On her future responsibilities, she pledged to serve the people with diligence and integrity, free from corruption, for the welfare of society.

Meanwhile, the Thongam Sagei Apunba Khurumba Committee also felicitated two successful candidates of the MCSCCE, 2022 during a special function held at Thongam Apokpa Khubamlen in Khekman Mayai Leikai.

The achievers honoured were Surendra Thongam, son of Thongam Chandra Singh and Thongam Ongbi Mema Devi, of Khekman, who secured the 30th rank, and Soniya Thongam, daughter of Thongam Ajanta Singh and Thongam Ongbi Santibala Devi of Singjamei Chingamakha Irom Leirak, who secured the 70th rank in the examination.

The two achievers were felicitated with traditional lengyan by members of the Thongam Sagei from different parts of the State and were also presented cash rewards in recognition of their achievements.

During the programme, both Surendra and Soniya pledged to serve the people with integrity and humility for the welfare of society and sought blessings from the elders of the Thongam clan.

Meanwhile, the Senior Citizen and Intellectuals' Association, Nambol organised a reception ceremony to honour Sachikanta Nongthombam of Kakyai Awang Leikai, who secured the 16th rank in the MCSCCE, 2022 examination.

The function, held at Utlou Mayai Leikai Community Hall, was attended by MLA Th Basantakumar Singh as chief guest, president of the Senior Citizen and Intellectuals' Association, Nambol, A Babu Singh as functional president.

During the reception, Sachikanta Nongthombam was honoured with gifts in recognition of his achievement.
