Free health camp held

The Nambol Bazar Women Vendor's Association organised a one-day free health camp today under the supervision of Nambol Municipal Council and Community Health Centre Nambol for the benefit of flood affected victims and as a precaution against common diseases.
The health camp was conducted under the aegis of the Department of Health and Family Welfare.
The camp was led by Dr Ojit Khaba, MO in-charge, CHC Nambol with three doctors, three nurses, one technician, two pharmacists and two councillors rendering their valuable services.
Nambol Municipal Council EO L Suranjoy was also present at the scene.
Altogether 200 people received medical consultation and the necessary medications were distributed free of cost.
Speaking in this connection, Dr Ojit Khaba stated that the free health camp was organised in view of the water borne diseases that can emerge as a result of the recent floods which inundated many areas and homes.
In addition, the State is also undergoing heat spells which can cause skin diseases and various other non-communicable diseases.
So the camp was organised under the supervision of the State Health Minister, he added.
Meanwhile, H Kunjalata, secretary, Nambol Bazar Womens' Vendor Association maintained that the health camp will benefit the sanitary staff of Nambol Municipal Council as well as the women vendors of Nambol Bazar and help them maintain good health.
In addition, L Suranjoy stated that all efforts are being made to maintain cleanliness in the areas under the jurisdiction of Nambol Municipal Council.
The Council will also provide all possible support to keep the vendors and shopkeepers in the area healthy,
he said.
