RBI Imphal launches Financial Literacy Week 2026

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Imphal kicked off Financial Literacy Week (FLW) 2026 today at Imperial Hall, Classic Grande, emphasizing "KYC-Your First Step to Safe Banking".
The national campaign, running from February 9 to 13, promotes Know Your Customer (KYC) as the bedrock of secure banking, covering Central KYC (CKYC), fraud alerts, and risks of money muling.
The local inauguration followed the all-India launch by RBI Governor Sanjay Malhotra.
The event held at the Classic Grande began with the felicitation of guests by Chamailo M Samuel, Deputy General Manager, RBI.
N Sridhar, Chief General Manager, RBI; A Subhash Singh, Director of Institutional Finance, Government of Manipur; and Partha Mandal, General Manager (Officer-in-Charge), NABARD Regional Office spoke on the occasion.
The event featured a poster unveiling for FLW, a panel discussion on "KYC, CKYC, Account Hygiene and Discipline" and a presentation on campaign messages.
As part of the FLW 2026, RBI Imphal will be organising a series of outreach & awareness activities across the State, On February 10, a Cyclothon- mass cycle rally in Imphal will promote safe banking, account hygiene, and financial discipline.
The same day, a Shumang Leela by professionals in Moirang Block, Bishnupur district, will deliver theme messages in a culturally engaging way.
