Imphal, November 08 2025: Kanglei Indigenous Martial Arts and Cultural Society (KIMACS) on Saturday inaugurated the observation of 'Thang-Ta Day' at Leisemba Maheikol, Kangla Sangom Sahang under the theme, "Thang-Ta for guiding future generations with wisdom".

The inaugural function was graced by Laishram Yaiskul, principal, Leisemba Maheikol; Irom Ibhomcha Mangang, chairman, Thang-Ta Day Observation Committee; and Ningthoujam Ajitkumar, president, KIMACS as presidium members.

Since 2019, KIMACS has been observing Thang-Ta Day every year on November 15 to preserve and promote Thang-Ta, the indigenous martial art form which is deeply rooted in the Meitei culture and was historically used to protect the Kingdom and its people from foreign invaders.
