Cultural Appreciation Course begins at State Museum

Imphal, May 08 2026:
A 10-day Cultural Appreciation Course was inaugurated on Friday at the Manipur State Museum auditorium by Mrinashree Mairembam, Curator, Manipur State Museum, Department of Art & Culture.
The course will run from May 8 to 18, 2026 .
Organised by the Manipur State Museum, the programme will feature 13 resource persons who will speak on different topics related to culture on separate days.

The course opened with Dr K Sobita Devi, retired Director of Art & Culture, presenting a talk on the topic "Cultural Significance of the Traditional Costumes of Manipur" Rajkumar Surjeet Singh, Guru Ahal, Lai-Haraoba Department JNMDA, spoke on "Pena" .
As part of the course, participants will visit Kangla and the RKCS Museum.
A study tour to Andro Heritage Village has also been arranged.
The course will conclude on May 18, which is International Museum Day, with a valedictory function and distribution of certificates.
