CDE programme on 'Nasoalveolar Molding' conducted at RIMS

The Department of Paediatric & Preventive Dentistry, Dental College, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, organised a Continuing Dental Education (CDE) programme on "Nasoalveolar Molding (NAM): Shaping Smiles, Shaping Futures" today at the Lecture Hall of Dental College, RIMS.
The programme was inaugurated by Prof G Sunil Kumar Sharma, Director, RIMS, as chief guest in presence of Prof N Sanjib Singh, Medical Superintendent, RIMS Hospital as guest of honour and Prof B Praveen Reddy, Principal, Dental College, RIMS, as patron.
Dr Wairokpam Bhoomika Devi, Head of Paediatric and Preventive Dentistry, RIMS, and Dr Pranamee Barua, Associate Professor and In-charge, Paediatric and Preventive Dentistry, Regional Dental College, Guwahati, were also present.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Sunil Kumar Sharma congratulated the department for organising the programme and highlighted the development of the second campus and expansion of departments.
Stressing the challenges of cleft lip and palate, he emphasised multidisciplinary care involving dentistry and plastic surgery and said CDE programmes help advance knowledge and improve patient outcomes across the Northeast.
Dr Pranamee Barua delivered an insightful lecture on NAM, highlighting its clinical significance as a presurgical approach for infants with cleft lip and palate.
The programme brought together dental professionals, faculty, students and delegates for academic learning and professional exchange.
