Diamond Donors extend financial aid to child battling cancer

Imphal, May 04 2026: Diamond Donors has extended monetary assistance of Rs 60,000 to three-and-a-half-year-old Namoijam Athoiba, son of Namoijam Surjit, who is currently undergoing treatment for cancer at RIMS Hospital.

Speaking in this regard, Managing Director of Diamond TV and Wahong Radio, James Heigrujam recalled that Athoiba's father, a member of the Diamond Donors group, had once requested him on his birthday to suggest a name for his son, who was subsequently named Athoiba.

He stated that upon learning about the child's illness, viewers of Diamond TV, listeners of Wahong Radio, and donor members came together to pool funds in support of his medical treatment.

He expressed gratitude to Padmashree awardee Nameirakpam Kunjarani, Wangkheimayum Nandini, Second-in-Command of CRPF, Emashi Sorojini of Bijoy Govinda, Burari Meitei Club, Delhi, and all contributors for their generous support.

He further stated that Diamond Donors will continue to extend assistance to underprivileged individuals and its members in times of need.
