PM Vishwakarma Loan Utsav held in Imphal to boost credit access for artisans

A Credit Outreach Camp under PM Vishwakarma Scheme was held as part of Loan Utsav on Wednesday at the Training Hall, State Institute of Rural Development (SIRD), DC Office Complex, Porompat, Imphal East.
It was organised by MSME Development & Facilitation Office (MSME-DFO), Imphal, Ministry of MSME, Government of India along with Lead District Bank, Imphal East and SLBC to facilitate institutional credit access for PM Vishwakarma beneficiaries.
The programme began with a welcome address by M Siva Sai Reddy, Assistant Director, MSME-DFO Imphal.
He highlighted benefits under the scheme including skill training, toolkit support, marketing assistance, e-commerce linkage and subsidised credit to help artisans improve productivity and build sustainable livelihoods.
Lead District Manager, Imphal East, Thakur Chandra Majhi encouraged beneficiaries to utilise credit facilities under the scheme to expand enterprises.
Dedicated loan facilitation counters were set up by participating banks to address queries and facilitate processing of loan proposals.
Beneficiaries interacted directly with bank officials on issues related to application, sanction and disbursement.
Around 100 PM Vishwakarma beneficiaries attended the camp.
15 banks participated- Bank of India, SBI, Bank of Baroda, IDBI, Indian Bank, Axis Bank, Manipur State Cooperative Bank, Manipur Rural Bank, PNB, HDFC, IndusInd, UCO Bank, ICICI, Punjab & Sind Bank and India Post Payments Bank.
The camp provided a platform to link traditional artisans with formal financial services and reinforce Government efforts to strengthen artisan ecosystem through credit, skill and market linkages.
