Imphal, September 02 2024: Joining the rest of the country, National Sample Survey Office (FOD), Regional Office, Imphal celebrated National Sports Day 2024 at its office in Imphal on August 29, 2024 .

According to a release issued by NSSO(FOD), Regional Office, Imphal, the Day is celebrated every year on August 29 to commemorate the birth anniversary of renowned hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand.

The celebration held at NSSO office began with the taking of a FIT India Fitness Pledge by all the participants.

In his speech, Dr Kh Manao Singh (ISS), Deputy Director General, emphasized on the importance of staying fit and leading a healthy life.

He urged all to engage in regular physical activity for at least 30 minutes everyday to remain hit & healthy.

Three sports events namely Badminton, Chess and Tug of War were also organised.

All the officials actively participated actively in the events.
