Many join NPP in Moirang AC

In a major boost to the National People's Party (NPP) in Moirang Assembly Constituency, as many as 967 voters from 270 households spread across 12 wards of the Moirang Municipal Council formally joined the party on Tuesday, reaffirming their trust in the sitting MLA.
The grand reception programme to welcome the new entrants was held at the MLA Office at Moirang Philem Leikai on Tuesday.
The event was organised by the NPP Moirang Block and was attended by several senior party leaders, former local body representatives and grassroots workers.
Those present included NPP Moirang Block president Ph Magha; Moirang Kendra Progressive Front president L Gopal; Political Affair Committee chairman S Kumar; chief advisor of MLA Moirang, Y Modhu; former Pradhan of Phubala GP, N Ranjit; former Pradhan of Ngangkhalawai GP, M Brojen; former Councillor of Kwakta Municipal Ward no 8, Md Abdul Karim; former Councillor of Ward no 3, Abdul Salam; and NPP Moirang Block working president Haji Ningthem.
Speaking at the occasion, MLA Th Shanti said the large-scale joining reflected growing public confidence in the leadership and policies of the NPP and expressed hope that the strengthened support base would help accelerate development and welfare initiatives in the constituency.
