Imphal, October 07 2018:
One Dimailung Gangmei has clarified that the claims regarding a family leaving Charoichagotlong Part I after facing threats and harassment from him, are false and baseless.
Speaking to media persons at Lamphel today, Dithailung said that the story regarding a ruckus at his residence created by one Lungjangam Gonmei, son of Gonbilung Gonmei (head of the alleged family which was forced to leave the village), is false and so.
is the claim that Gonbilung came to him (Dithailung) to apologise for the ruckus.
He claimed that on the night of September 20, at around 11 pm, some armed people came to his residence and began questioning his wife about his (Dithailung) whereabouts.
Dithailung alleged that he hid inside his house and heard the conversation between his wife and the armed people and one among them seemed to be that of Gonbilung's son Lungjangam Gonmei.
After searching around the house for a bit, the armed people left, Dithailung said and added that as soon as morning came, his family left for Imphal out of fear for their lives.
Claiming that any incident of a drunk drama was never caused at his residence by Lungjangam nor did Lungjangam's father, Gonbilung come to him to apologise, Dithailung further clarified that during the alleged incident of October 3 in which some people allegedly came and locked down the house of Gonbilung and threatened his family members to leave the village, he (Dithailung) was not present there as he was already in Imphal.
