Imphal, June 27 2025:
Congress MLA K Ranjit has asserted that formation of a new Government will not be possible at the moment.
Speaking at the inaugural function of a newly constructed community hall at Wangoo Laipham Chithek today, K Ranjit remarked that all sections of the people have been suffering untold misery for the past more than two years on account of the protracted violent crisis.
No one can say for sure when the BJP's proxy war will come to a stop, Ranjit said.
He said that the protracted crisis cannot be resolved till date because the Central BJP has its hands in the crisis in a big way.
On the other hand, the State's BJP Government headed by Chief Minister N Biren could not exercise the powers guaranteed by the Constitution, he said.
Following the abject failure of the Government to protect the State's integrity and its citizens, the youth took up arms to protect their own villages, Ranjit said.
Now the Government has started detaining and arresting the same youth who took arms to protect Manipur and its citizens, he said.
"I raised a proposal in the State Assembly to adopt a resolution which would protect village volunteers from arrest but the then BJP Government did not pay any heed", the Congress MLA rued.
Today, the Government has started arresting many village volunteers by levelling a number of charges against them.
Nonetheless, the Congress MLAs will always stand for all the genuine village volunteers, he said.
Because of putting all sections of people in an extremely miserable state for a prolonged period because of BJP's proxy war, people now find the term 'BJP' quite revolting, Ranjit said.
He then questioned the logic of ex-Chief Minister N Biren in claiming that BJP will win 40 seats in the next State Assembly election.
BJP must know that it's fortune is waning all across the country including Manipur, he added.
The community hall inaugurated today was constructed from MLA Local Area Development Fund at the cost of Rs 45 lakh.
