UNC readies reception for Muivah at Senapati

Senapati, October 24 2025: A civic reception for Ato Kilonser Th Muivah is scheduled for October 29, 2025, at Tahamzam (Senapati) district headquarters.

In connection with this, the United Naga Council (UNC) has declared a "genna" (suspension of daily activities) to be observed by Nagas under its jurisdiction on that day.

The UNC declared that Nagas in the 'present State of Manipur' will observe the genna on October 29, 2025 during the historic civic reception for the esteemed leader Eno Th Muivah at Tahamzam (Senapati) district headquarters 'in reverence to our traditions and cultural practices' .

During this genna, the UNC called upon all community members to declare holidays of all educational institutions, and "shops shall remain closed as a mark of respect".

The UNC also called upon the Nagas to abstain from economic and commercial activities and participate in the community gatherings and programmes to celebrate the occasion and uphold the spirit of unity and solidarity.

"Let this genna be a symbol of unity, strength, and commitment in a quest for self-determination based on the unique history and position.

May our collective efforts bring peace, prosperity, and progress to the Nagas", it added.
