Curtains down on Shirui Lily Festival

Ukhrul, May 24 2025: The fifth edition of the Shirui Lily Festival 2025 wrapped up this evening with a glittering closing ceremony.

The closing ceremony of the State level festival held at Bakshi Ground began at 6.30 pm and it was followed by Shirock, a rock music programme.

Shirui Lily beauty contest which was a major feature of the five day festival went on till the late hours last night at Heritage Ground, Vangayan Shirui village.

Esme SS of Ukhrul/Hunphun village was crowned the beauty queen while the 1st runner-up and 2nd runner-up titles were won by Disti Athokpam from Imphal and Esther Somungla of Chatric village, Kamjong district respectively.

Esme's blend of academic pursuits and modelling showcases her multifaceted talents, making her a notable figure in contemporary fashion.

She is currently pursuing BA (English Honours).

The winner was awarded Rs 3 lakh along with a gift hamper but Rs one lakh is reserved for her participation in other bigger events.

The 1st and 2nd runner-up of the beauty pageant walked away with Rs 1 lakh and Rs 75,000 respectively along with gift hampers.

The sub-titles winners viz; Miss Popularity-Esther Somungla Jamang, Miss Talented - ThemThem A Shimray, Miss Perfect Smile- Cecilia Zimik, Miss Perfect Body-Esme SS, Miss Pheithei Pangthei-Sumi Ningshen, Miss Humility-Shonchui Kazingmei and Miss Graceful Walk-Laikhuram Zeneva were awarded a cash prize of Rs 20,000 each.

The most awaited Bombay Viking along with two local bands (Feathers head & Not Funny) enthralled the music lovers of Ukhrul tonight from 7.30 pm onward at Bakshi ground, marking the closure of the popular tourism and cultural festival.
