COCOMI throws door wide open to receive daughters of Manipur

The Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) has appealed for cooperation from all sections of society and the Government in receiving the mortal remains of Kongbrailatpam Nganthoi Sharma and Lamnunthem Singson at Bir Tikendrajit International Airport and ensuring their dignified return to their respective families.
According to reports from the respective families, the mortal remains of the two victims are currently undergoing DNA identification for confirmation, which is expected to take approximately 72 hours.
Once the process is complete, the remains will be brought back to their home State of Manipur in the coming days, said a press release issued by Laikhuram Jayenta, convenor, IPR sub-committee, COCOMI .
In this regard, COCOMI has appealed to all sections of society, including civil society organisations, local clubs, youth bodies, and the general public, to extend full cooperation and support in receiving their mortal remains at Imphal Airport and ensuring a dignified return to their respective families for final rites.
COCOMI has also called upon the State Government and administrative authorities concerned to make all necessary logistical arrangements for the smooth transfer of the bodies to their homes.
If willing, the families may come forward to receive their daughters at the airport without hesitation.
COCOMI is ready to extend any coordination or assistance required during this process, asserted the press release.
"May the land of Manipur welcome back her daughters with love and pride.
And if life grants them another chance, may they return to us once again as the shining daughters of our soil", said COCOMI .
As a community, COCOMI urged everyone to honour their return and pray for their souls to rest in eternal peace.
COCOMI also expressed deep sorrow and heartfelt condolences over the tragic demise of two young daughters of Manipur who lost their lives in the recent Air India flight AI 171 crash on June 12 .
The flight, bound for Gatwick, London, crashed shortly after taking off from Ahmedabad.
It is worth noting that the entire State of Manipur united in mourning the untimely loss of the two AI crew members.
Since the tragic news broke, people across the State, especially the youth, have paid tribute through candlelight vigils, prayers, and messages of solidarity, offering comfort and strength to the bereaved families.
