Imphal, May 16 2025: Chief Secretary Prashant Kumar Singh (PK Singh) has stated that security measures have been heightened to facilitate safe and mass participation in the Shirui Lily Festival, which is set to start from May 20 .

At a flag-off ceremony for new Manipur Fire Service vehicles, he informed the media that comprehensive security arrangements have been made to ensure the smooth conduct of the Shirui Festival, scheduled across various venues in Ukhrul district from May 20 to 24.He said that a large number of security personnel have been deployed along the Imphal-Ukhrul road and at the festival venues.

Saying that DGP Rajiv Singh has also been holding security review meetings, he added that security personnel will be deployed at strategic locations.

He assured that attendees shouldn't worry about their safety while participating in the festival.

The festival is resuming after a two-year break, he said and appealed to the public to attend the festival in large number with a sense of unity.

The Chief Secretary acknowledged the recent threat statement targeting a specific community but noted that clarifications have been issued.

He urged the public not to spread rumours that might deter people from attending the festival.
