Imphal, August 14 2025: Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla has led the State in conveying heartfelt greetings and best wishes to the people of Manipur on the occasion of the 79th Independence Day.

In his message, Governor Bhalla said that the day reminds people of the courage, sacrifices and unwavering spirit of countless freedom fighters who laid down their lives for their countrymen to live with dignity in a free Nation.

Saying that their legacy inspires people to uphold the value of democracy, justice, and unity, he urged everyone to reaffirm their collective resolve to build a progressive, inclusive and resilient India.

He further urged the youth of Manipur to dedicate themselves to the ideals of hard work, compassion, and civic responsibility and strive to make Manipur a beacon of peace and development.

The day is not only a tribute to those who fought with valour and vision but it is a reminder that each generation carried the torch of liberty forward, said Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaker Th Satyabrata Singh in his Independence Day message.

He expressed hope that the Independence Day celebration will bring renewed hope, unity and a commitment to shaping a future rooted injustice and peace.

Saying that every freedom, liberty and rights people enjoy is granted by India's sovereignty, Yumnam Khemchand Singh, MLA, Singjamei AC also joined in extending warm greetings and best wishes on the 79th Independence Day of India.
