UNICEF NE chief meets Governor

Imphal, May 13 2025: Dr Madhulika Jonathan, who is chief of field office of UNICEF for Assam and the North-eastern States, called on Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla at Raj Bhavan, here, on Tuesday.

In a release, the Governor's Secretariat informed that Dr Madhulika accompanied by four officials briefed the Governor on various initiatives undertaken by UNICEF in the region, including vaccination and immunisation efforts for children.

The team also highlighted the distribution of educational and sports kits to the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) of Manipur.

The Governor appreciated their dedicated efforts and encouraged them to continue focusing on their humanitarian work.

Dr Madhulika also sought the Governor's support in addressing certain financial challenges and requested his guidance.

The Governor acknowledged their concerns and assured them of his attention on the matter, it added.
