Imphal, June 12 2025:
In response to the recent spike in COVID-19 cases across the country and a confirmed positive case in Manipur, RIMS has made face masks mandatory for individuals exhibiting flu-like symptoms and their attendants within hospital premises.
Use of mask is strongly encouraged for all patients and visitors, regardless of symptoms, to minimize potential transmission, said a press release issued by RIMS Media Cell.
Taking serious note of the recent spike in COVID-19 cases across the country including one confirmed case in Manipur, the Emergency COVID-19 Management Committee, RIMS was convened today to review preparedness and implement preventive measures.
RIMS Hospital has advised the public to follow essential precautionary measures to help curb the spread of infection.
Maintaining strict hand hygiene is crucial, and individuals are encouraged to wash their hands frequently with soap and water or use alcohol-based hand sanitizers.
Those experiencing symptoms of Influenza-Like Illness (ILI), such as cough, fever, sore throat, or fatigue, should seek prompt medical consultation, it said.
While routine COVID-19 testing will not be carried out, testing will be conducted for patients showing signs of Severe Acute Respiratory Infections (SARI) or as deemed necessary by the attending physicians, it added.
