Cabinet nods to job recruitment

Imphal, September 10 2026:
The State Cabinet has decided to fill up several posts lying vacant in the Police Department.
The State Cabinet held a meeting with Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand in the chair this afternoon.
Briefing media persons after the meeting, Government spokesman Th Radheshyam said that the Cabinet has given its consent to make recruitment to 2720 posts including male and female police Constables and different categories of posts in IRB .
Five per cent (125 posts) of the total 2720 posts have been reserved for meritorious sportspersons (women), Radheshyam said, adding that a recruitment notification would be issued soon.

On being enquired about the recruitment exams held earlier but for which the results have not been declared yet, Radheshyam said that the matter is being examined at the level of the Chief Minister together with the concerned bureaucrat officers.
To another question, the Government spokesman said that there is no difference of opinion safe- guarding the integrity of Manipur, conducting just and fair census and updating the NRC .
The Government of India has made it clear that no census would be conducted in Manipur and the State Assembly has adopted a resolution to this end, he said.
On the UNC's indefinite economic blockade, Radhe-shyam said that the Govern- ment has been talking with different stakeholders.
Taking to social media, Chief Minister Y Khem-chand wrote, 'Chaired a Cabinet meeting at the Cabinet hall of New Civil Secretariat, Mantripukhri today.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Nemcha Kipgen, Deputy Chief Minister Losii Dikho, Home Minister Govindas Konthoujam, Art and Culture Minister Kh Loken Singh, Chief Secretary Rajeev Singh Thakhur, Administrative Secretaries and officials of various departments.
The meeting discussed various agenda concerning public welfare and interest' .
