Imphal, April 05 2026:
Thangmeiband AC MLA Kh Joykisan has extended financial assistance to two ailing journalists today.
The MLA visited Soubam Bokuljaoba, a Senior Reporter of The Sangai Express at Achanbigei in Imphal East, and Angom Ranjit, a Senior Reporter of Poknapham from Uripok Sinam Leikai in Imphal West, at their respective homes today.
He handed cash assistance to their families to support their medical treatment.
On the sidelines of his visit, Joykisan said that the role of the media in shaping public opinion is immense and expressed hope that the media would continue their efforts to promote peace in Manipur.

He also appealed to the media not to publish news stories that could hurt the sentiments of the people or have a communal impact.
Communal riots serve the interest of no one, the MLA said, urging the people of Manipur to choose the path of peace by forgiving one another for past grievances.
Joykisan also stated that the people of Manipur must coexist peacefully.
Illegal immigrants, however, must be identified, he emphasised.
Praising Chief Minister Y Khemchand for meeting people of different communities in Jiribam to facilitate inter community harmony, he added that the State Government is working to restore normalcy in the State.
