Imphal, June 06 2015 :
Paraolon ambush was a cowardly act and every citizen of the country should condemn it in strongest terms, Chief Minister Okram Ibobi has said.
He was speaking to reporters after paying homage to the personnel of 6 Dogra Regiment who were killed in Paraolon attack at Tulihal airport today.
Underground outfits would never be allowed to carry on their violent activities.
State Government forces along with paramilitary and other Central Government forces would collectively fight them, he said.
The Chief Minister further said that he has requested the Centre to sanitize State's 300-km long border with neighbouring Myanmar.
He said that taking advantage of hilly terrains and thick jungles, the UG cadres can easily escape to Myanmar.

Ibobi further said that the State Government has also requested the External Affairs Ministry to seek help from Myanmar Government in busting the hideouts of the militants.
He also said that his Government has also requested the Centre to ask Myanmar Government not to provide shelter to NE rebels in their territory.
Saying that a massive search operation is going on in Chandel district after June 4 ambush, Ibobi said that a joint operation with State forces would be conducted if need arises.
The Chief Minister further said that in a democratic country, there is no place for those who create violence.
He said that Paraolong ambush was spearhead by NSCN-K.Ibobi further said that the State Government has already expressed its opinion to the Centre that there is no need to hold talks with the groups which are involved in killings and violent activities.
When queried whether he would persuade the Centre to continue border fencing, Ibobi said that he had requested the External Affairs Ministry on many occasions to finalise the boundary in consultation with the Survey General of Myanmar.
He clarified that it was not a border dispute between the two countries but some sorts of misunderstanding as some border pillars were found missing.
The matter would be resolved soon, he added.
