Khangabok Apunba Meira Paibi Lup demands posting of full-fledged ASO in Thoubal district

Thoubal, June 29 2025: Citing the inconveniences faced by the people of Thoubal, the Khangabok Apunba Meira Paibi Lup has appealed to the concerned authorities to depute a full-fledged Assistant Survey and Settlement Officer (ASO) in the district of Thoubal.

Speaking to the media persons during a press conference held at the Khangabok Keithel, Thokchom Muhini, joint secretary of Khangabok Apunba Meira Paibi Lup stated that despite Thoubal district ranking among the top in terms of population and land-related activity, it still lacks a full-time ASO.

She pointed out that for years, the ASO of Thoubal was seated at Lamphel, leading to considerable inconvenience for the local population.

Although the ASO office was shifted to the Thoubal DC complex over the past 3-4 months, the officer is still not regularly available due to additional charges of other districts.

The irregular presence of ASO in the district has resulted in major disruptions in land related disputes including, patta transfers, land measurement, etc.

Therefore the Thoubal Apunba Meira Paibi Lup has urged the State Government and concerned departments to immediately appoint a full-fledged ASO at Thoubal to streamline operations and address public grievances efficiently.
