Veer Bal Diwas 2025 celebrated at MU

The NSS Cell, in collaboration with the Fit India Campaign Committee and Fit India Club, Manipur University, organised the celebration of Veer Bal Diwas-2025 on Friday under the aegis of the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment and the Ministry of Women & Child Development, Government of India.
As per a release issued by NSS Cell of MU, the programme was graced by dignitaries, including Prof N Lokendra Singh, Vice-Chancellor, MU; Prof L Thambal Singh, Head, Department of PESS; Dr Dalip Singh, NSS Programme Officer; and Dr Laishram Santosh Singh, Programme Coordinator, NSS Cell, MU.

Dr Laishram Santosh highlighted the historical and moral significance of Veer Bal Diwas, observed annually on December 26, to commemorate the unparalleled sacrifice, extraordinary bravery, and unwavering faith of the younger sons of Guru Gobind Singh.
Prof N Lokendra emphasized that Veer Bal Diwas, observed nationwide on December 26, honors the courage, resilience, and moral strength of children, inspiring youth to uphold righteousness andjustice.
Prof L Thambal described the celebration as a highly significant occasion and appreciated the inter-university sports initiative for promoting unity and healthy relations.
Dr Dalip Singh expressed that the celebration of Veer Bal Diwas would contribute towards peace, harmony, and social unity in the state, especially among the youth.
To promote sportsmanship, fitness, and inter-university harmony, football and basketball matches were organised between Manipur University, National Sports University, and Dhanamanjuri University.
Prof Ch Ibohal Singh, Dean, Students' Welfare, MU; and Dr O Shantajit Singh, Assistant Professor, Manipur College were also present at the event.
