Senapati, September 26 2025:
The Naga Women's Union (NWU) has strongly condemned the death threat issued against Dr Rosemary Dzuvichu for her outspoken advocacy on women's reservation and her continuous efforts to uplift women in society.
"To a well-known crusader, such an intimidatory threat is a grave affront not only to her life but also to the ethical values and dignity of all women," the NWU said in a statement.
The Union lamented that patriarchal structures which undermine women are no longer acceptable in modem society.
"We consider this threat not only as an attack on an individual lady but on the entire women's community," it added.
The Union also demanded that the intimidator be punished under the Indian Penal Code, citing Sections 503, 506 and 507, which cover criminal intimidation, and Section 509, which addresses words, gestures, or acts intended to insult the modesty of woman, acts, or verbal harassment.
The NWU further criticized the media post titled "Unified Naga Land for Christ", stating that administrators failed to exercise due diligence in screening content that breached regulations.
Calling for urgent government action, the NWU urged authorities to ensure that the culprit faces punishment without delay.
