Psycho-oncology Session held for cancer patients

A psycho-oncology session titled "Together We Heal" was held today at Apna Ghar, Intas Foundation, Imphal, at its official residence inKeishamthong Irom pukhri Mapal, focusing on the emotional well-being of cancer patients and their families.
As per a release issued by Intas Foundation, the session, led by Sarju Maisnam, Project Coordinator of Existence, Centre for Mental Hygiene, highlighted that cancer affects not only the body but also the mind, emotions, and family life.
She shared coping strategies for anxiety and uncertainty, while stressing the vital role of families in providing strength and resilience.
Through open dialogue, patients and caregivers exchanged experiences and drew support from one another.
The programme underlined the core principle of psycho-oncology-healing through empathy, communication, and collective support concluding with a message of shared hope and resilience.
Notably, Intas Foundation's Apna Ghar project provides free transit homes for cancer patients and their caregivers with accommodation, food, transport and counselling for cancer patients free of cost.
