AMESCO observes Advanced Eid-ul-Zuha

Imphal, May 26 2026: The All Manipur Ethnical Socio-Cultural Organisation (AMESCO) organised Advanced Eid-ul-Zuha 2026 at Mayang Imphal Bengoon, Imphal West, and Sora, Kakching, as part of its calendar programme to foster unity among communities.

At Bengoon, AMESCO president Chinglemba Wahengbam, Meipak Ningthou Committee convenor Arshad Baseimayum, Manipur State Haj Committee ex-chairperson Moulana Abdus Salam, MMWO vice-president Chesam Achouba, and Asst Prof Md Jallaluddin Phusam attended as presidium members.

The event was oraganised in association with Bengoon Youth Development Association.

In Sora, dignitaries included Chinglemba Wahengbam, Arshad Baseimayum, Slopland Public School chairman Nahakpam Babulin, SDA Sora president Md Zulfaqar Alam Sheikh, ex-Upa Adhyaksha Md Nazimuddin, senior citizen Md Abdullah Khutheibam, and Women Committee president Tombi.

AMESCO advisor Loitongbam Ibotombi urged mutual trust to defeat attempts to divide communities.

Chinglemba Wahengbam said Manipur's colourful, harmonious culture makes it unique, adding that AMESCO has promoted communal ties since 1993 .

Arshad Baseimayum said the programmes aim to project Manipuri unity worldwide.
