STATE LEADERS including the Chief Minister and the Assembly Speaker, political parties and various civil society organisations have showered Christmas greetings on the Christian community in particular and the people of Manipur in general.
Chief Minister O Ibobi inhis message said, "the best way to celebrate the Christmas is to strive for building a harmonious society and work for strengthening the bonds of amity may humanity accept the essence of Christmas' message of peace."
Manipur Assembly Speaker Dr S Budhichandra expressed his confidence that the Christmas Festival would be the occasion for bringing peace and prosperity in the state.
Deputy Speaker, Th Shyamkumar in his massage wished for bringing prosperity with the celebration of the Xmass and New Year to the people in general and to the Christians in particular.
General Officer Commanding of 3 Corps, Lt Gen, Rakesh Kumar Loomba, GOC of 57 Mountain Division, Maj Gen, Shakti Gurung also extended warm greetings to the people on the occasion with blessings to bring peace, harmony and prosperity.
Political parties like the Manipur People's Party, Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee, Nationalist Congress Party, Manipur Pradesh, Rashtriya Janata Dal also conveyed greetings to the people on the occasion.
MPP said, the celebration of the festival will influence the mind of the people in bringing peace and harmony in the state.
The MPCC said with the celebration of the festival with the massage of the Jesus, all the misunderstanding among the people will ease and bring a peaceful and prosperous society.
NCP wished the people of the state in general and Christians in particular, a happy and prosperous life while, RJD reiterated the massage of Jesus on the occasion and said celebrating the festival with the massage of peace will help in returning peace in the state.
The Archdiocese of Imphal, the Universal Mother�s Organizations (UMO), Zeliangrong Union, Assam, Manipur and Nagaland, Imphal, All Manipur Ethnical Socio-Cultural Organisation (AMESCO), Youth Foundation for Fitness and Service (YOFFS), Manipur, United People�s Front, Manipur (UPF), the United Committee Manipur (UCM), All Manipur Civil PHED Workers & Employees� Association, National Identity Protection Committee (NIPCO), Consumers� Club, Manipur, Manipur Students� Federation (MSF) etc.
also extended greetings to the people of the state particularly to the Christian community on the occasion of Christmas.
