Chandel Society Delhi hosts Sports Meet

Chandel, November 24 2025: The Chandel Society Delhi (CSD) successfully organised the CSD Sports Meet 2025 on Saturday at Rosary School, Radio Colony, Delhi, bringing together members of all Naga communities from Chandel District, Manipur.

The event was held under the theme "Oneness & Service" with the aim of strengthening the inherent shared bonds and deepening community fellowship.

The day-long sports meet saw participation from over 300 players and well-wishers, representing various communities and making the celebrations vibrant and lively.

The programme featured an array of competitions, including football, basketball and volleyball, witnessing enthusiastic involvement across age groups.

The event commenced with an opening prayer by Rev Fr Albert Leivon.

In his welcome address, CSD president Th Tommy Monsang extended warm greetings to all attendees, particularly the guests of honour, elders and seniors.

He highlighted the significance of such gatherings in promoting unity among the community, especially the younger generation, enabling them to collectively address challenges faced by Chandel natives living in Delhi.

The volleyball and football finals emerged as the highlight drawing loud cheers and spirited support.

The atmosphere was further uplifted by lively commentary from MCs Ringku and Levisha and special musical performances by Windy Kangten and Denipha Rohin.

The Anal Community Delhi clinched the Overall Team Championship title.

The Best Disciplined Team and Runners-Up Trophy went to the Monsang Community Delhi.

Each participating community also received a token of appreciation from CSD.

The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by W Fameson, Finance Secretary of CSD, followed by a closing prayer led by Pastor Wynlic Sankhil.
