USTM, DMU hold workshop on NEP 2020, UPSC exam strategy

A workshop on "Role of NEP 2020 & Career Opportunities" along with a special session on "How to Crack UPSC Exam?" was held at the Commerce Auditorium of Dhanamanjuri University, Imphal.
The programme was jointly organised by the University of Science & Technology Meghalaya (USTM) and Dhanamanjuri University.
USTM Chancellor Mahbubul Hoque, Vice Chancellor Prof G D Sharma, DMU Vice Chancellor Prof W Chandbabu Singh, and academic expert Dr Dhanabir Laishram attended the event, alongside other eminent academicians.
Students from various higher secondary schools and DMU also took part.
Oinam David, Assistant Professor, Computer Science Department, USTM, said the workshop aimed to make students fully aware of career opportunities under NEP 2020.The UPSC session was included to guide aspirants from Manipur, a State that consistently produces successful civil service candidates, he added.
He stated that the unrest in Manipur has disrupted education and put students at a disadvantage compared to other North East States.
To support them, USTM, under the Chancellor's guidance, plans to adopt 10% of students from Manipur who face hardship, offering free-ships and scholarships, with priority for those from financially weaker families, said David.
Mahbubul Hoque briefed students on USTM and announced a comprehensive scholarship and free-ship package for Manipur students as part of the university's student-centric outreach.
