Imphal, June 20 2025: Family members have claimed the body of T Molianboy of Langol village, Chandel, from RIMS morgue on Thursday for the final rites.

Molianboy was studying in Dhanamanjuri University (DMU) and staying at Adimjati Boys' Hostel, Chingmeirong.

He was found drowned in a pond inside the Hostel campus on June 12.Speaking to newspersons at RIMS morgue, Molianboy's uncle TK Moshil Pha accused the hostel warden of not contacting family in time.

Molianboy had no swimming experience and did not join his three friends who were swimming.

As such, the claim that he (Molianboy) died by drowning is suspicious, maintained the uncle, suggesting that hostel authority question the three friends for clarity in the case.

He also urged CSOs and student organisations of Manipur to help prevent similar incidents in the future.
